From the Artists: "The track ‘POPCORN’ was created for what was to become an unreleased second album under my alias ‘POPCORN CRUSH’ that never got past this track. After finishing my version, I sent it to Inky so that He could rework it and have it fit with the overall vibe of His tracks. Of course, creating the tracks in Premiere meant that He had to completely remake My tracks so that He could edit them in FL Studio, but I think it gave the tracks a charm that I think was missing from my demos at the time. We had a bit of a snag in the making of the track, as I wanted the drums to really ‘punch out’ and be a really ‘let’s get on the floor and dance like there’s no tomorrow’ kinda track. Inky sent me a render, to which I sent Him a voice clip, explaining how I wanted the drums to be like. This very voice clip is what inspired the track ‘Voice Mail’ on the finished album!

‘Grape Juice’ was originally titled ‘grape soda’ when Inky sent Me the demo one night. I loved the other-worldly atmosphere the track puts you in as the beat transcends you to a place where you’re in the middle of a nostalgic paradise. Sampling Travis Tedford’s 1980’s Welch’s Grape Juice Ad for the Intro and outro of the song, Inky had perfectly created a bookend to ‘POPCORN’, the other food based single- making this a delicious listen from start to end. I wonder if people will start pairing these two foods up together because of us?

The remixes for these tracks are outstanding! ‘Doktor Plekter’, an artist I discovered from long time friend, ‘Takuchi’, through His purchase of the ‘She’s So Cool’ tape and accompanying Energy Drink- remixes ‘POPCORN’ on ‘Chromaticism’ His Energy on the new mix brings out a chair-rocking, body thumping rhythm that just can’t be beat! And ‘Hot Cherry’s’ remixes ‘Grape Juice’ This remix is outstanding, and it reminds me of ‘Blood on the Dance Floor’s mixes with its funky and infectious vibe that is sure to get everyone dancing! Thanks to both of these amazing artists for their help on this project!"

When Tony sent me his initial drafts for his half of what was meant to be a Split EP between us two, the track POPCORN stuck out to me right away. It was a lovely opener to the project and was a lovely flip of a track by the Commodores. It was classic-sounding future funk and I couldn't get enough. So, after recieving the stems, me and Tony went back and forth over email, with me sending new mixes and chops of the sample, adding my own flair to it all, and with Tony giving me feedback on what would sound best to blend our styles together. This Split EP that we worked on grew in size so much, that we ended up with a full album, *Chromaticism-.

Grape Juice was created fairly late during the Chromaticism sessions, and I experimented with chopping and resampling myself, alongside some sample loops, which I don't use often. This helped me come out with a unique track on the album, with a bubbly vibe and a song that encapsulates what I was thinking of at the time, which was how I wanted to drink three or four gallons of grape juice. Hey, the simplest things in life are the most desirable. I think the food-based track names were a funny coincidence, but I'm sure it makes for a tasty single.

My long time collaborator and friend Hot Cherry's was happy to make a remix for us, so we handed him a few tracks to pick from. Cherry liked My Star and Grape Juice a lot. He liked My Star so much, that his remix of that track became his own song at that point, which he posted onto soundcloud here-

He later created a remix for Grape Juice, which we decided to keep on because the disco vibes were too good to turn down, haha. Next, Doktor Plekter created an AMAZING remix of POPCORN, which blew me away on my first listen. It was such an honor to have a legend like him make such a cool remix of a track Tony and I made together.
